Event details

Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm (please arrive by 8:45am)

Venue: Heritage Collections Learning Room (HCLR), Queensland State Library

What's included: Full day program, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

This is not for beginners.

If you are looking for an introduction to surface pattern design, this is not the right day. This masterclass assumes you are already working — and are ready for a real conversation about what comes next.

This is not for current educators or workshop facilitators.

This masterclass is designed for practising artists and designers — not for those currently teaching or running workshops in the surface design space. We want everyone in the room to be there for the same reason: their own practice.

Full price: $1,100 per person

1-on-1 portfolio sessions

Confidentiality agreement

As a condition of attending, all participants are required to sign our participant confidentiality agreement. This protects the program content, frameworks, and materials shared during the day. You will find the agreement attached to the email you were sent — please sign and return before you make payment.

Cancellation policy

This masterclass is designed for creatives who are serious about their practice and committed to their own development. By securing your place, you are making a genuine commitment to show up — and we are making a genuine commitment to you.

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds.

We ask you to be certain before you book. Read the program carefully, consider whether this is the right day for you, and only apply when you are ready to commit. This is not a course you try out — it is a day that rewards full investment.

The only exception is a documented medical emergency or serious unforeseen circumstance. In these cases, please contact us as soon as possible with supporting documentation (medical certificate or equivalent). At our discretion, we may offer a credit toward a future event or a partial refund.

Transfers: Your place may be transferred to another person with our prior written approval, provided the replacement applicant meets the application criteria and the transfer is requested no later than 14 days before the event.

We are absolutely confident that you will leave this day with new knowledge, fresh direction, and tools you can apply immediately. This is 25 years of experience in one room — show up ready, and it will be worth every cent.
